Why we ask you to sign up with your Wirex email

When you create your Wirex One account, we'll ask for an email address. If you've been a Wirex user, this choice matters — using the same email as your Wirex account is what lets us find your data and bring it with you.
Here's why, and how it works.
Your email is how we recognise you
When you sign up for Wirex One, we automatically check whether the email you've used belongs to an existing Wirex account. If it does, we know your account is here and ready to come along with you.
This check happens quietly in the background — no extra steps, no form to fill in. You just sign up as usual, and we do the rest.
What if I used a different email?
If the email you sign up with doesn't match any Wirex account, we won't be able to connect your profile, balances, or settings to your new Wirex One profile. Your Wirex One account will open with a clean slate instead.
This also means the option to bring your account across won't appear — it only shows up when we find a match.

Once we find your Wirex account by email, here's what happens:
We show you the option to get set up on Wirex One. Nothing happens until you choose to go ahead.
You log in to the Wirex app from inside Wirex One. This confirms you're the account owner — it's a one-time step and takes about 30 seconds.
We get everything ready on your Wirex One account. Your balances, cards, verification, and Earn accounts are all in place. For most accounts this takes under a minute.
The Wirex app switches to read-only mode. You can still browse your past activity there, but your Wirex One account is now where everything happens.
Your consent drives every step. Nothing is moved without you choosing to go ahead.Is this secure?
Yes. The email match is just the first check — it tells us an account might be yours. The actual link only happens after you log in to Wirex directly, which proves you own the account. We never access your Wirex account without that confirmation.
I already signed up with a different email — can I still bring my Wirex account?
At the moment, the connection is only possible when the emails match at sign-up. If you've already created your Wirex One account with a different email, please reach out to our support team and we'll look into options for you.
